XanGo has many claims that their mangosteen juice offers many health benefits. XanGo’s mangosteen juice contains, among other ingredients, xanthones. Xanthones are biologically active plant phenols that are being studied to determine their possible benefits in aiding with many health conditions. The mangosteen is a plentiful source of xanthones.
The mangosteen is also high in antioxidants, which are said to be beneficial in optimizing health of the human body.
How Xango Mangosteen Juice Benefits the Immune System
Xango, the producer of mangosteen juice, says their product supports the immune system, provides cellular protection and neutralizes free radicals. The Mayo Clinic does credit mangosteen as having high levels of antioxidants and indicates the mangosteen may protect against certain diseases.
At the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, experimental studies have been done and suggested the mangosteen does contain antibacterial and antiviral properties.
At this time, there is not enough evidence to support the claim that XanGo’s mangosteen juice supports the immune system, provides cellular protection or neutralizes free radicals.
Inflammation Reduced by Drinking Xango's Mangosteen Juice
Xango mangosteen juice also claims to reduce inflammation. The researchers at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México do say that in their experimental studies, they found the mangosteen to have anti-inflammatory properties.
There is not enough scientific evidence to support the claim that XanGo’s mangosteen juice does in fact, help with inflammation.
Xango Mangosteen Juice Improves Skin Tone and Wrinkles
Another claim made by XanGo and the benefits of their mangosteen juice is that in helps improve skin tone, decrease wrinkles and make blemishes fade. In-house studies by XanGo, indicated that after four weeks of drinking mangosteen juice, 60 to 84 percent of participants reported improvements in their skin hydration, tone and hyper-pigmentation.
After eight weeks of consuming mangosteen juice, 80 to 100 percent of participants claimed improvements in their skin hydration, tone, wrinkles and hyper-pigmentation.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has warned XanGo about making these claims as there is still no verifiable data to back up these claims.
Antioxidants Found in Xango Mangosteen's Juice
The Mayo Clinic indicates that antioxidants may benefit in preventing many diseases like cardiovascular disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and macular degeneration. Antioxidants also neutralize free radicals in your body, which are natural byproducts of cell metabolism.
The Mayo Clinic also indicates good health benefits are the result of diets consisting of antioxidant rich foods. However, consuming too much antioxidant may be harmful and even toxic to your health.
Researchers at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México confirm the mangosteen does have antioxidant properties, but there is not enough evidence to say how beneficial those antioxidants are to your health.
